Ruth graduated in 2011 with a Master’s degree in Online Journalism from the Annenberg School of Communication and Journalism at the University of Southern California.

Ruth hails from sunny Seattle, WA, spending her formative years at The Northwest School, playing a lot of sports including basketball and rowing.

She received her Bachelor’s degree from Syracuse University, dual majoring in English and sociology while competing as Division I rower. She was honored to be a Big EAST Academic All-Star her last three years at Syracuse and was also elected to the Athletic Director’s Honor Roll her last two years.

After Syracuse, Ruth spent time in London working for the Travel Channel UK and ultimately landed back in Seattle working in development at NWS and coaching at Mt. Baker Junior Rowing.

During grad school, she is worked for Intersections as the Mentoring Director, and coaching the junior women at the Marina Aquatic Center in Marina del Rey, CA.

Currently, she works in online lead cultivation in the marketing department of Windermere Real Estate in downtown Seattle.

Ruth considers her family, her education and her rowing experience as paramount to making her into the person she is today. She continues to learn and challenge herself both mentally and physically, completing not only her master’s, but also the LA Marathon in the miserable, torrential downpour in March 2011.

In her spare time she enjoys working out (Olympic weightlifting these days), eating, working on her house and generally having a great time. You can reach her at frantz {dot} ruth {at} gmail {dot} com.
